I'm Packing Heat!!
Hello Again Folks,
If the first step is the hardest part of the trip, the second hardest part is the packing!!
As Rick Vyrostko (Crisp Rick to Brett) will tell you, you just can't take off somewhere without a whole new wardrobe. To that end I visited Bass Pro Shop today in Toronto and picked up some new apparel for the sojourn. All that while some guy fished in the large tank in the centre of the store telling you what rod, reel and line were the best for catching fish. The next time I am tank fishing, I'll certainly take advantage of what he had to say!!
OK - it is 10:20 AM and I still have to finish packing.
I'll be travelling through pretty mountainous terrain so I'll be taking some sleeping bags and sustanance in case I am driving almg the road and run into some prehistoric creature cloned from ancient DNA, have to make some sort of evasive road manaoeuvre and end up upside down 2000 feet below road level and it's snowing and blowing like crazy - sounds like a Stephen King novel doesn't it?
Well to that end, I have packed a bunch of pretzels, nachos and some sort of beer snack. Also I have not figured out the official beer of the trip yet - still tasting, don't you know - but something tells me it might just be an India Pale Ale of some sort - bodaciously hoppy, but yet nice upside down with ptetzels - I'll get back to you on that later.
Golf clubs are de rigueur - I mean this is my chance to drive El Capitan in Yosemite - so watch for that photo!!!
It's hard to pack for 0 - 10,000 feet above sea level - that said I figure a T-shirt for 0 and about 20 Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Issues, 2006, for 10,000 should be more than adequate.
Well - gotta pack and run - watch for an update tmorrow date - with photos - I hope.....
